The Deuce is a HBO drama series created by The Wire creator and show runner David Simon and writer and Executive Producer George Pelecanos. The two series share many connections among their cast and crew members.

- David Simon was the co-creator of The Wire (with Ed Burns) and served as the show runner, head writer and executive producer throughout its run. He co-created The Deuce and was the show runner and executive producer for all three seasons.
- George Pelecanos worked as a writer on all five seasons of The Wire and was a producer for the third season. He was the co-creator of The Deuce and worked as an executive producer and writer throughout the series run.
- Nina Kostroff Noble worked as a producer for the first season of The Wire. She was promoted to co-executive producer for the second season and then executive producer from the third season onward. She was an executive producer for The Deuce.
- Richard Price was a regular writer for The Wire. He was an executive producer for the pilot of The Deuce and then returned as a co-executive producer for the rest of the series run as well as writing episodes for the first and second season.
- Chris Yakaitis worked as a researcher for the fifth season of The Wire and was a part of the writing staff throughout the run of The Deuce; he initially served as a staff writer for the first season, then story editor for the second season and finally was promoted to executive story editor for the third and final season. He was promoted again to co-producer and writer for the second half of the final season.
- Laura A. Schweigman was the writer's assistant for the second season of The Wire and the assistant to David Simon from the third season onward. She was a producer for the final season of The Deuce.

Ralston is transgender and had not transitioned to male in his work while The Wire was in production so was credited as Jen Ralston.
- Shelby Siegel was an assistant editor for The Wire and was the editor for several episodes of The Deuce.
- Matthew Booras was an assistant editor for the fourth and fifth season of The Wire. He returned in this role for the pilot episode of The Deuce before graduating to editor, cutting several episodes over the series run.
- Paul Schiraldi worked as a still photographer for both series.
- Janice Kinigopoulos was the head of the hair department for The Wire and fulfilled the same role for the pilot on The Deuce.
