Isiah Whitlock, Jr., born September 13 1954 in South Bend, Indiana, USA, is an actor. He plays Senator Clay Davis in The Wire. He is a starring cast member in the fifth season. He initially appeared as a recurring guest star in the first, second, third, & fourth seasons. He has been active since 1987 and has also appeared in the films 25th Hour (2002), 1408 (2007), Enchanted (2007), and Cedar Rapids (2011).

Biography[]

He also is notable for appearing in Spike Lee films She Hate Me and 25th Hour as Agent Amos Flood. In those projects and The Wire, Whitlock established a catchphrase from his characters' distinct pronunciation of the word "shit" ("sheeeeeeit"). Whitlock also made appearances on Chappelle's Show and has made several appearances as various characters on Law & Order.
