Dan Attias, born December 4 1951 is an American director. He is an episodic director for The Wire. He helmed the episodes "Duck and Cover", "Straight and True", "Margin of Error" and "Transitions". He has also worked on the HBO series Entourage, Six Feet Under, True Blood, Deadwood and The Sopranos.

Biography[]

Attias has worked as a director since the 1980s. His early work included directing an episodes of the crime drama series Miami Vice. He was a regular director for the drama Party of Five in the 1990s. He worked on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

He has worked with JJ Abrams on his series Alias and Lost.

He is a frequent director for the FX comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and has helmed 16 episodes of the show.

He directed an episode of the FX crime drama Damages in 2007.

Attias was a regular director for the HBO drama series Big Love. He helmed 9 episodes of the series between 2007 and 2011.

He was reunited with The Wire creator David Simon on his next series Treme in 2010. Attias directed the first season episode "Wish Someone Would Care" for the HBO drama series.

Attias returned to HBO in 2015 to direct an episode of True Detective. He shot the second season episode "Black Maps and Motel Rooms".

He was a regular director for the crime series Ray Donovan.

He directed two episodes of the series Get Shorty in 2017.

He was a regular director for the crime drama Snowfall. He directed three episodes of the series. He joined the crew in 2017 as a director for the first season episode "Slow Hand". He returned to direct the second season premier "Sightlines" in 2018. He also directed the third season premier "Protect and Swerve" in 2019.
