Benay Berger is an American actress. She has a recurring role as FBI supervisor Amanda Reese in season 1, 2, 3 and 5 of The Wire.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Benay (also known as Susan Benay Berger) grew up in the inner city. She attended Baltimore inner city schools including the Baltimore High School for the Arts where she studied music: voice (alto) and clarinet. A music lover, Benay sang in gospel choirs in her Elementary school and high school, and toured with a choir throughout college. She also sang back up for, and recorded with, an American blues group in Munich Germany. She lived and worked in Germany for 3.5 years in TV, film and theater and now speak German fluently. She currently resides in LA, but spends a good deal of time in New York and Baltimore. She also appears in The Corner as a recovering drug addict.
